[TLUG] migration help ???

My Linux machine is also shadow enable, I copy the user line
from Sun:/etc/passwd and paste it to Linux:/etc/passwd,
the user login without any trouble.
If the shadow option is also enable on Sun machine,
I suggest you to copy&paste encryped password field in 
Sun:/etc/shadow to Linux:/etc/shadow.
